Sometimes we get so busy we recruit friends to help! Small hands require small tools.

Much of the studio work is fun: marveling at our containers and sniffing cacao butter.

Balms are hand poured...and sometimes it gets messy.

We use locally harvested charcoal in our Black Cedar Soap, harvested from Santa Cruz, California, USA.

Every bar of the black cedar soap is handmade!

Sunblock making is one of my favorite activities, it's as if eating chocolate cake all afternoon. But handling annatto can seem a little eerie!

We do a lot of troubleshooting: catching screen printing errors, wiping down oily bottles and dusting kelp mask bottles.

My studio work often reminds me of high school chemistry class...but with a prettier apron!
